Chef Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the chosen candidate will perform an array of duties to run a profitable, clean, and well-equipped kitchen. The Chef will also be responsible for overseeing day to day operations including coaching and motivating the Kitchen staff. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Compensation

  • Total compensation ranging from $60,000 -70,000, inclusive of gratuities and performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Salary reviewed annually

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in food menu creation and implementation to GRETA standards
  • Uphold a positive culture by cultivating relationships, leading by example, and mentoring your team members
  • Train and coach staff in all kitchen positions and systems
  • Maintain excellent food execution and food safety compliance
  • Ensure that food quality and standards are being met
  • Support inventory, labor costs and cost of goods reporting
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor daily food preparation and production
  • Scheduling of staff align with labour targets and allotted budgets

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to perform well independently as well as on a team

  • Ability to work neatly, efficiently, and safely in a fast-paced environment

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef
  • Knowledge of the standards and regulations for food preparation
  • Red Seal certification is considered an asset
  • Food Safety Certification
